Man Utd are no longer pursuing a deal for Ivan Perisic, according to BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone.

Jose Mourinho is a long-term admirer of the Inter winger and sang his praises while working as a pundit during the World Cup in Russia.

Perisic enjoyed an impressive tournament with Croatia, scoring three times, but after signing a new five-year deal in Serie A it’s unlikely he’ll move to United this week.

Stone tweeted: “Told nothing happening re Perisic at the moment.”
Arsenal won’t sign Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona because they splashed out on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January, according to Martin Keown.
“I don’t know, maybe it’s good for the fans,” he exclusively told Starsport.

“I don’t see it happening. It seems like it’s an absolute fortune for the player. It doesn’t look likely.

“But maybe the Arsenal fans are hoping for that sort of marquee signing. I think that work was done last year with Aubameyang."

Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool superb summer should not send expectations soaring at Anfield.

He said: “We have high expectations of ourselves but our situation has not changed. Why should it?

“I do not see that United has got weaker, or City weaker. Tottenham have not sold a player and have stayed together.

“Arsenal and Chelsea will be stronger than last year. Everton obviously are pushing from behind and Wolves have shown they are not shy to spend money.

“The league will be difficult. It is not about judging our situation and thinking, ‘really good’.

“We need to be ready each week, not only for a few games. That is our challenge."

1.00am: Man Utd transfer target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is reportedly being lined up by AC Milan in a massive £107m deal.

Reports in Italy suggest the Rossoneri are willing to offer Lazio an initial £35.6m loan fee, with an option to sign the 23-year-old permanently later on for a top-up fee of £71.2m.

According to news outlet La Stampa, Juventus remain interested, but are yet to offer anything concrete.

The Serie A champions, who have already brought in Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid in a £100m deal, are thought to want Milinkovic-Savic to replace Miralem Pjanic if he was sold.

If Milan’s bid was accepted, it would come as a blow to United and Chelsea, who are both still looking to add to their ranks before the start of the new Premier League season.
